Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1/2 cup tomato, sliced
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 4 pickle slices
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Ketchup and mustard for condiments
Instructions:
Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat
While the grill is heating up, divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties
Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper
Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare to medium doneness
Adjust cooking time for your preferred level of doneness
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt the cheese
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster
Once the buns are toasted and the cheese is melted, assemble the burgers
Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a patty with melted cheese
Top each patty with tomato slices, red onion slices, and a pickle slice
Spread ketchup and mustard on the top half of the buns, and then place them on top of the assembled burgers
Serve your classic cheeseburgers hot with your favorite side dishes
Enjoy!
